Given a relatively rosy financial outlook, city officials will debate whether to fund some extra projects during their midyear budget review tonight. The city manager’s office said revenue for the $9-million annual budget is $33,300 higher than predicted because of some insurance income, vacant city positions, and increased fines and forfeitures.
Recreation officials said they need $15,000 to make their computers work after 1999 and a police officer’s injury could cost $160,000 in worker’s compensation. Now may also be the time to spend $98,400 on the Los Alamitos Armed Forces Reserve Center Pool, the report said.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 3191 Katella Ave. Information: (562) 431-3538.
