Thank you for the article “Straw Homes Come to Town,” by Jennifer Oldham, March 26. It is yet another small piece in my arsenal for convincing friends and family that my husband and I aren’t nuts for even considering building a straw bale home.
I came across the idea completely by accident about six months ago. I’ve bought two books on the subject and countless other books on home building, and we’re on the prowl for a piece of vacant land.
With housing prices what they are, we’ve come to the conclusion that building a house ourselves is our only option.
