The 28-year-old Ventura County Jail inmate who collapsed and died while playing basketball at the jail’s rooftop court Saturday suffered a massive heart attack, coroner’s officials said.
The inmate has been identified as former Camarillo resident Laquentine Holt. He had a history of high blood pressure that contributed to his heart problems, officials said following an autopsy Sunday.
Holt had been serving time at the main Victoria Avenue jail since August on suspicion of violating his parole.
