Michael Mortenson, managing partner at Mortenson Taggart Adams LLP, became the first in his family to graduate college, earning a degree from the University of Virginia in 1999. He worked for the U.S. House Speaker and in private equity before attending Case Western Reserve University School of Law, serving as the Student Bar Association president. His litigation career includes roles at Bingham McCutchen LLP, K&L Gates, BakerHostetler and Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth. In 2019, Mortenson co-founded Mortenson Taggart Adams LLP, which now has 25 attorneys and staff. He has achieved notable outcomes, including a Top 100 jury verdict in California, precedent-setting judgments for Ford and successful class action defenses. Dedicated to pro bono work, he has represented the family of Navy SEAL Glen Doherty and California foster children.
